Hello Sam!
Sam is a beautiful Sun Conure Parrot. His brilliant orange and yellow colors made it impossible for me to leave him at the pet shop. Well, that, plus when the shop owner let him out of the cage and handed him to me, he cuddled up against me like he was all ready to get out of there and go home!....With me. : ) He's a pretty clever little rascal. After he snookered me into bringing him home, he never cuddled again.
Sam isn't much of a talker. In fact he really doesn't talk at all. Sun Conures are capable of talking, Sam just doesn't choose to. He does say a pitiful version of "Hello Sam" because Louie yells that a lot and I think he knows his name is Sam. He loves playing with his toys and is perfectly happy entertaining himself. He's never overjoyed when people try to make friends with him.
In fact, if you get too close while you're talking to him, you might end up with a sore nose. I guess he's kind of a loner. That's ok. He's a great little guy.
Sam loves bath time and he is quite the acrobat. When it's time for him to wake up in the morning, we take the door off his cage so he can climb around and just play on top of the cage if he wants to. He has a "birdy buddy" in has cage (basically a piece of fake fur) and at naptime, he cuddles up to it and purrs like a kitten. In this picture he's hanging by one foot from the top of his open door. He does that a lot.
